A field trip, eh?

<strike>Shall I bring the alcohol? Or will somebody else volunteer?</strike>

And who was the talented wonder who drew out that poster? My, what an artistic genius!

This MS Paint craze sweeping the school is rather amusing. I shall not indulge, however. I have much work to do. <strike>That's just a cover for my abysmal computer drawing skills. Everybody knows I never do work.</strike>

As for the aftermath of the dance, well, it certainly seems to have succeeded in bringing the school together, and pushing everybody apart at the same time. Deary my, it seems that nobody can afford to let their guards down at these such events.

Still, I managed to steal a quiet surprise. And once again, here we are, playing the waiting game.

These days I really enjoy my evenings. I have started to read the most interesting books and it is wonderful to settle down with a drink or two as the stars come out to play.

I feel so...slack as of late. <strike>Even more so than usual.</strike> But perhaps these are just lazy days, although as a teacher I should be encouraging the youth of today to be more active and proactive. It won't happy today, I'm afraid. Terribly sorry about that.

I will stress, however, the importance of afternoon naps.

<strike>And my dire wish to take Nanao-chan to the dance.</strike>

I feel like a teenager once more.

Nanao-chan, since no doubt teachers are expected to chaperone at the upcoming dance, would you like to go together? What does a man have to do to win you over? Wine you? Dine you? Give you flowers? It's hard for me to get close to you without something being thrown my way, so I thought that I would ask you via these journal things.

I think I just recovered my memory about what happened the night of Matsumoto-sensei's party. It's not the events of the party (which was as wonderful as I expected) that plague my thoughts, but rather what happened before and after.

Maybe the cure for this is more alcohol.

So the second round of the Mr and Miss KHS has begun. It seems rather unfair in my eyes to have such an arbitrary event...The first round involved necessary skills. This all seems a little random but well, if I were to complain any more then a certain person would force me to come up with these challenges, and admittedly, I am rather happy in my "spectator" role.

Unfortunately, such a role does not extend to the Student Council or whatever they're calling it these days. Nanao-chan, who did you say was nominating people to stand? Was it the teachers? Or was it the students? I have a funny feeling that it was the students. What kind of Student Council is nominated by the teachers, after all? I think I have to have more of a part in this but I've...spent a lot of time doing other things so am not up to speed on all the details.

Well, if you are a student and think that you may be interested in positions of power, with the intent of improving our school, of course, then please prepare yourselves.

In other, more pleasing and entertaining news, I, like much of the school, am looking forward to Rangiku-san's costume party. And fortunately, I have a costume. See, I can be productive when the time calls for it. <strike>Unfortunately Nanao-chan refused to go as a matching pair...</strike>

Breaking silence is always a hard thing to do but it is almost always appreciated. Unless I am trying to take a nap at the time. Then again, you would think that I would have learned by now not to attempt to get any sleep while in sight of, and within throwing distance of Nanao-chan. Love is such a fickle and often painfully sharp thing.

As for other silences, it seems that students are reluctant to talk to me. Which is disturbing in a subject that inspires as much discussion and debate as Philosophy does. It is saddening because I feel that I am the one at fault, although the youth of today is well known for apathy of varying degrees when it comes to the greater subjects in life.

As I anticipated, it was pleasant to spend time with fellow colleagues.

As I also anticipated, and was almost certain, this years Mr and Ms KHS nominations have caused quite the stir. As for fellow colleagues, I trust that you all voted fairly. Although in a world of amusement such as this one, there are sure to be doubts where certain members of staff are concerned.

Good luck to those participating.

Every year I meet an exceptionally fascinating student. That is one of the reasons why I continue in this profession. No two classes learn the same topic the same way. We have an insightful year ahead of us, for sure.

As with the majority of the staff members, I too am looking forward to Rangiku-san's little get-together. It has been some time since my last drink. Or perhaps that is not entirely true...In any case, it will be nice to spend some time with fellow co-workers.

Nanao-chan, are you going?

One.

And yet another summer slips by, with the impending new school term to look forward to. Oh my love, how I have missed you these long hot summer days...Time without your presence seems to be time wasted indeed.

Hello there, students. My name is Kyouraku Shunsui, but you may call me Shunsui-sensei. I am currently accepting applications to the class of Philosophy. For those of you who feel you may be able to cope with thinking on a higher level, then please consider joining.

This class is for those who:
* Enjoy discussion, often at length
* Are good at dealing with often abstract concepts
* Have a desire to learn and to hone their intellectual ability
* Are good at debate
* Have always wondered about those bigger questions in life

This class is not for those who:
* Shy away from possibly uncomfortable issues
* Are not willing to voice their own opinions in a calm and fair manner
* Dislike reading and independent thinking

So if you would like to broaden your horizons, I suggest that you give me your name.

I hope to see many of you on the first day of class. Not long to go now! Remarkably, this is highly organised for me...And hopefully this time it will last.
